New Zealand North Island Explorer

An 11-day fast-paced tour of New Zealand’s North Island, from Auckland to Wellington: Hobbiton, Cathedral Cove and Hot Water Beach, Rotorua’s geothermal wonders and Māori culture, and Lake Taupo. Groups of up to 18, ages 18-35, with an Ultimate Group Leader throughout.

Auckland (3 nights)

Welcome dinner on arrival, a guided city orientation, a day trip to Cathedral Cove & Hot Water Beach on the Coromandel Peninsula, and the Hobbiton Movie Set Tour with lunch and a drink at the Green Dragon Inn.

Rotorua (2 nights)

Free time to explore Rotorua’s famous Eat Street, plus a full geothermal experience: Hell’s Gate Geothermal Spa (guided bush walk + mud spa) and an evening at Te Pā Tū Māori Village with a traditional banquet dinner.

Taupo (2 nights)

Guided walk to Huka Falls, New Zealand’s most powerful waterfall, and an afternoon catamaran cruise on Lake Taupo past the Māori Rock Carvings.

Wellington (2 nights)

Group dinner on arrival, then a free day to explore Te Papa Tongarewa, ride the iconic Wellington Cable Car up to the Botanic Gardens, take in the views from Mount Victoria Lookout, or visit Wētā Workshop before the tour wraps up.
